Choosing a career is one of the most stressful and confusing things for a young person to decide. It is extremely difficult to think about what you want for yourself when you have so many opportunities and options to choose from.
It is completely normal to not have any direction as far as a career path goes. For example, there are many people who are in the latter stages of their lives and may still change their career.
The key to choosing one is to simply do what you will enjoy. If you are going to be doing this for the rest of your life, you might as well have fun doing so.
Here is a quote from Gary Sinise about choosing a career:
“Careers, like rockets, don’t always take off on schedule. The key is to keep working the engines.”

Not all individuals are unfocused with careers. However those that have a wide variety of interests need to strive towards education and careers that allow for a variety of work avenues. For Example Accounting allows for business ownership, accounting, corp employee, CPA, or Govt employee.
There are many careers that allow for different angles. to many individuals in up taking a major that locks them in one direction only.
A good way to see what your interest areas are is to take a career interest test.. SDS is very cheap and the is one called the Strong which is expensive but very indepth.
